God's Promises are True!

This is rainbow season in Belgrade. We are blessed to have some of the most beautiful rainbows here. Shane and I have gotten pretty good at recognizing just the right conditions for a rainbow or in this case a double rainbow! When we first stepped outside it was so bright and vibrant! It doesn't take long for the clouds to roll in though. Today was definately a good day for us to be reminded that God keeps his promises.

Rainbow!

Here's a movie of the rainbow we saw tonight!

Please Pray for Callie

This morning got off to a rough start. In the process of moving Mandy and Callie to their own pen, Callie was seriously injured by one of our mules. She and Mandy are staying at the vet for a few days and she has quite a bit of recovering to do. It is a miracle that she is even alive. Shane was at the pasture alone when it happened and was kicked in the leg while fighting with the mule to get him away from Callie. Shane will be fine, but is pretty sore. The biggest concern we have for Callie right now is recovery without infection. The second is recovery without limited function. Her injuries are in her neck and on her face and rump. She has become so dear to our hearts and we are praying that God will allow her to recovery fully and use this experience to bring him glory in our community. This picture is of "Nurse" Abbey wrapping the ice on Daddy's leg. By the way, Shane didn't need the crutches in the background, Ellie dug them out of the garage "just in case."

The Cap Club

Ellie, Nathaniel and Abbey created the "Cap Club" this week. These are the official rules. I asked if they had to wear a cap to be in the club and they said, "No, we didn't want the kids to have to remember their cap to come to the club!"

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

We went to the pasture today and finally got to fly a kite! (We've been waiting for over a year!) It was perfect kite flying weather. Hope you enjoy seeing the mountains in the background!

Stirring Off

Grandma and Grandpa McClaflin are here and yesterday the kids got to "Stir Off" for the first time! Here's a video. By the way, Nathaniel's came out the best (with a little help from Grandpa)!

AWANA

Tonight was the awards banquest for AWANA. Ellie finished her third (and final) year of Sparks while Nathaniel and Abigail were recognized for their hard work in Cubbies. Ellie received a special award tonight because she was one of 3 Sparkies to complete 3 handbooks, their reviews and 3 workbooks over the past three years. In doing so she had to memorize over 400 verses! We are so thankful for the opportunity for them to hide God's Word in their heart at such a young age.

Too Busy

This morning has just been too busy. Sammy was finishing up his lunch when I got a phone call, which led to several others. Then I went to wash Sam up and this is what I found. The ironic thing is that Shane and I just had a discussion Monday about having no idea what it would be like to actually have a child fall asleep at the table:). We have been working on dropping Sammy's morning nap so he's pretty tired after lunch. I have had trouble remembering that he didn't take a morning nap. He used to go until 2pm or so before I would lay him down. At least I was able to lay him down in his crib without incident.

Sammy Swinging

Saturday Fun

Today we were able to go to the park for a little while. Everyone enjoyed the swings and Sam even kept his sunglasses on the whole time!

Callie

On Thursday morning our Appaloosa mare "Mandy" had her foal. She's a filly and we named her "Callie."
